Overview
POLYMARK is a powerful and flexible software for casting and detecting watermarks (signatures) on vectorial two-dimensional computer graphics; e.g. 2D maps, cartoons, image edges or region contours.
ALPHA TEC LTD presents this software as the first of this class in the world, leading the initiative and offering you the ultimate technology for the protection of vectorial graphics. This version includes a module for opening, reading and writing Geographic Information System (GIS) files under the format of ESRI Shapefiles, (SHP) and generic vectorial graphics data in plain text files (TXT). Polygonal lines, either open or closed (polygons), contained in such files, can be watermarked with POLYMARK provided that thay have a minimum number of vertices.
A copyright owner can cast its unique id number (private key) as a watermark on the map (or vector graphic). The results of watermark detection can be used either for security or for copyright protection applications.
Polygons and polygonal lines are essential in GIS data and many other applications, and they will hold the POLYMARK watermark, in such a way that the signature will not be removed unless severely altering the shape.
POLYMARK can be used for the copyright protection of graphic files in the following applications:
Digital maps and geographical information systems.
Cartoons and vector computer graphic files.
Files of image contours, edges and/or image region borders.
