Product overview

Anthropos7 Editor is an application that visualizes and edits video or movie metadata descriptions written in the Anthropos7 profile of the MPEG-7 standard. This profiel contains an anthropocentric video metadata description scheme, i.e. it can describe the identity. status (e.g. facial expressions) and activities (e.g. walk) of the persons/actors appearing in a vide file. This is achieved with the use of a Graphical User Interface that overlays the Anthropos7 Description on the Video frames on computer screen. It provides a powerful, customizable and easy to use tool for editing movie content description, without precise knowledge of the Anthropos7 format to the end user.

The main Anthropos7 Editor window

Anthropos7 Editor makes viewing and editing of MPEG-7 video content description an easy task. Such content metadata can be video scene shot, or single frame information facial region of interest (ROI), such as the ROI of an actor, and general information on persons or actors appearing in the video.

In order to visualize and manipulate video information which has time duration, we use the Timeline Area. Metadata information based on a single frame, is visualized in the Video Area. Other static movie information, as well as duration and single frame based properties appear in the Static Information Area. These areas communicate with each other, automating various tasks and improving the way the user interacts with the Anthropos7 Editor application. For example the Static Information Area automatically shows the properties of the component the user interacts with and the timeline area follows the playback of the Video Area. The user may also change the video frame position from the Timeline Area.

Our application uses graphical overlays on top of the Video Area, e.g. we can visualize the ROI of each actor at every video frame, if its existance is contained in the Anthropos7 file. An extra feature is that the user can interact with these ROIs with his mouse. In other words he may create new ROIs, delete them, resize or move them around the video surface, while all these changes are tracked and saved automatically.

Furthermore, Anthropos7 Editor is highly customizable. From the Settings Menu, the user may change all the application colors and sizes, as well as the way information is retrieved from an Anthropos7 file and represented, thus allowing the application to look and work exactly the way the user wants.
